A Study in Whitefull home & exterior TRANSFORMATION
This full-scale renovation in Stanford is a study in monochromatic minimalism, designed for a professor who sought an uncompromisingly "ultra-sleek" retreat. The project was guided by a specific, serene brief: a home of pristine whites, white washed oak, and seamless transitions.
In the kitchen and three bathrooms, we leaned into a high-concept, low-contrast aesthetic. By utilizing large-format white slabs and light grey porcelain, we achieved a "no-grout" look that allows the architecture to feel like a singular, carved volume. Chrome hardware and stainless steel appliances add a crisp, industrial edge to the otherwise soft, light-filled spaces.
While the structural palette is intentionally quiet, the home finds its soul in the details. The all-white interior serves as a gallery-like canvas for the owners’ collection of abstract art and iconic Design Within Reach furniture and not forgetting the grand piano in the living room. From the removal of an original fireplace to the installation of expansive new windows and doors, every update was made to invite the outside in, creating a personal sanctuary that feels both disciplined and deeply lived-in.
